Description

I'm using Suricata from this PPA https://launchpad.net/~oisf/+archive/ubuntu/suricata-stable

In the /etc/init.d/suricata init script it references "libtcmalloc_minimal.so.0" but Ubuntu provides "libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4" in the debian package "libtcmalloc-minimal4"

Actually I think we should remove that in the next stable packaging release for two reasons:
- version/rev number support and validation for libtcmalloc on different Ubuntu releases.
- the minor performance boost was reported with a Suricata version a (very) while back ago where it should not matter with the current improvements and we have not had or seen any reports/feedback if there is any perf improvement because of libtcmalloc as of now that is worth to such extent the packaging inclusion support.
