Unsure if we still want this one, after https://github.com/OISF/suricata/pull/12812#issuecomment-2748363683

Will check my notes, but, tbd:
- should we have this, but disabled by default -- would this be enough?
- or should we only keep the work related to clean ups that was in that PR?
